This tutorial shows you how to dismantle the built-in battery of your COMMENCAL META POWER and then charge it away from the bike.
Insert a 4mm Allen key into the hole at the top of the battery cover, under the down tube.
Turn the 4mm Allen key 1/4 clockwise.
The battery will be released but will still be connected by a steel tab.
Remove the 4mm Allen key.
Press the steel tab with your finger to fully release the battery.
Remove the battery from the down tube.
To charge the battery when it’s not connected to the bike, take the Shimano EC-E6002 charger and SM-BTE80 adapter, both delivered with your META POWER.
Connect the adapter to the battery and the charger to the adapter.
A full charge-up of the battery takes approximately 7 hours.
During charging, the battery LED will flash.
Once the battery is 100% charged the LED will stop flashing.
Replace the battery back in the down tube.
Position the bottom end in first with the electrical contacts.
Push the battery inside the down tube until the steel tab clicks into place.
The battery then fits neatly and securely in the down tube.
Keep pushing the battery inside the down tube, until the click of the latch.
The battery is now installed, and your META POWER is ready to go!
