Congratulations on the purchase of your META POWER with integrated battery.

Here we offer some help so you can build it up and get out there!

IMPORTANT: Please read the SHIMANO STEPS E8000 manual carefully beforehand.

DO NOT switch on the battery until you’ve charged it 100% (final steps).

Prepare the necessary tools before you start:

• 4 & 6mm Allen keys
• Pliers
• Grease
• Flat head screwdriver
• Phillips screwdriver

Open the box at the top and remove all of the staples/sharp packaging so that you don’t risk scratches.

Lift the bike out of the box vertically holding the back wheel and the fork.

Put the bike on the floor like that. Turn the fork 90° so that the bike is more stable.

Take the accessory box and the battery pack. You should find:

• Light kit, bell, reflectors
• Specific SHIMANO E8000 accessories (instructions, battery charger, adapter, plastic motor cover, rubber rings)
• Component accessories (instructions, suspension pieces etc.)
• KS seat post accessories (plastic measuring tool)
• Pedals

Keep the box containing the battery in the case of storage or possible shipping. It’s also printed with the legalities of posting batteries.

Remove the plastic wrapping that protects the bike.

Remove the plastic that protects the handlebars.

With the 4mm Allen key, unscrew the 2 screws on the stem to align the fork.

With the 4mm Allen key, unscrew the stem cap screws.

Assemble the handlebar and stem.

Centre the bars with the help of the laser markings on it.

With the 4mm Allen key, tighten the screws of the stem.

Take off the rest of the packaging.

Take out the plastic separators from inside the front brake.

Keep them for if/when you transport your bike anywhere.

Take out the front axle with the help of the 6mm Allen key.

Grease the axle, in particular the thread.

Install the front wheel with the fork.

Screw in the axle with the 6mm Allen key.

Connect the power cable from the battery to the motor.

Be careful, the socket is equipped with a decoder and safety system. The ‘click’ ensures that the connection is sound.

Prepare the plastic cover and the 3 cross head screws to fix it.

Place the plastic cover close to the electrical connections, aligning the crankcase holes correctly with the engine block threads.

Be careful, the cables must be well placed so that the housing can be correctly positioned.

Screw the 3 screws with the Phillips screwdriver.
