Monter son vélo COMMENCAL, après réception


STEP 1

Open the bike box at the top. Make sure you remove all the metal stapples to avoid any risk of injurying yourself.


STEP 2

Remove the bike from the box by lifting it vertically holding the rear wheel and the fork. 


STEP 3

Place the bike on the ground. Rotate the fork by 90° so that the bike is stable.


STEP 4

 Place the contents of the accessory box on a table:

- Light kit, ring

- Front disc + 6 bolts

- Frame accessories, depending on the model (frame protector, foam, mudguard...)

- Accessories from the manufacturers of the parts (suspension and seatpost manuals and small parts, custom stickers etc.)

 


STEP 5

Cut the zip ties around the seatpost using a cutting tool.


STEP 6

Use the cutters to cut the zip tie that holds the front wheel. Then slide the wheel away along the crank arm.


STEP 7

Remove the front wheel from its packaging. Then install the front disc rotor. Remember to choose the right direction of movement of the disc as indicated on it.

Install and tighten 6 disc bolts with a Torx T25 key.

Tighten the bolts to the torque setting indicated on the disc.

 


STEP 8

Remove the protective foam from the stem.

Rotate the stem towards the front of the bike.

Remove the plastic protection from the handlebars.

 


STEP 9

Undo the stem front cap bolts with a 4mm Allen key.


STEP 10

Assemble the handlebar with the stem.

Adjust the handlebar position with the help of the laser marks.

Tighten the stem cap with a 4mm Allen key. Ensure the gap between the cap and the stem body is equal behind all the 4 bolts.

Tight the bolts with the torque indicated on the stem.

 


STEP 11

Remove the seat post from the packaging.

Mount the seat post into the seat tube making sure you check the seat post manual first.

Tighten the seat clamp to the correct torque indicated on it, with a 4mm Allen key.

 


STEP 12

Remove all the remaining protection from the bike.


STEP 13

Attach the front brake hose to the fork with a 2.5mm Allen key.


STEP 14

Remove the plastic wedges from between the brake pads.

You can keep them for if and when you transport your bike without a front wheel.


STEP 15

Unscrew the fork axle and remove it from the fork.

Put assembly grease on the axle and its thread.


STEP 16

Install the front wheel in the fork.

Mount the axle, screw it in and tighten the axle lever.

Adjust the lever position if necessary (see axle manual).

 


STEP 17

Congratulations, your COMMENCAL bike is now complete!
